GarageBand Basics Workshop

Workshop Duration: 2 hours

Workshop Goals:

  1. Introduce beginners to GarageBand and its basic functionalities.

  2. Guide participants in creating a simple piece of music using GarageBand.

  3. Teach participants how to record and integrate a voice into their composition.

Workshop Schedule:

1. Introduction to GarageBand (15 minutes)

  • Welcome participants and provide an overview of the workshop agenda.

  • Briefly discuss the importance of digital music creation and GarageBand.

2. GarageBand Interface and Basics (30 minutes)

  • Overview of GarageBand interface and basic functionalities (10 minutes).

  • Activity: Participants explore the library of loops and experiment with creating a simple drum loop (20 minutes).

3. Creating Melodies (30 minutes)

  • Activity: Participants add virtual instruments and create a melody using the keyboard or MIDI controller (30 minutes).

4. Recording Voice (30 minutes)

  • Demonstration: Guide participants through recording a voice using GarageBand (10 minutes).

  • Activity: Participants record their voice over their compositions (20 minutes).

5. Final Touches and Sharing (15 minutes)

  • Activity: Participants add final effects, adjust volumes, and make any last-minute edits to their compositions (10 minutes).
